JUNE
JULY
AUGUST
SEPTEMBER 22

A 21st century debate series in Connecticut begins in Summer and ends in Autumn.

Fair, WestonArts, HISTORICAL SOCIETY SCORE!!!
Late September Emmanuel Fair, Woodstock-come-again, and art at Lachat.
-----------------------
- Weston Historical Society tips its cap to Woodstock.
We assume - since we did not attend, drug use was not rampant at the
historical society super event.
- How will Weston find the money to support the schools and
everything else in a few years? We're "tightening up" fees and
ordinances to pay for some expenses and being creative (i.e. solar farm
credits).
- And Town bonded indebtedness has been shrinking from 11% of the
budget to @6% and dropping. The School construction approved in
2001 should be paid off in a few years. My guess is that by that
time the Town Meeting will be asked to issue bonds for additional
Town-School improvements so that taxes will not plummet (did you really think it would be that easy?)...

Never mind the U.S. Supreme Court, online/on demand streaming service for W.H.S. Sports

TAX SALE SEPTEMBER 12th at 10 am in the Town Hall Meeting Room
On another subject...how is a "Tax Sale" different from a "Tag Sale?" Ans.: Move the decimal place.
Where would we hold our "Tax Sale?" And after Sept 12th, how long do the owners get before they are evicted?
HOW DOES THIS WORK ELSEWHERE IN CT? EXAMPLE...
Norwalk held their auction in the concert hall in the former Norwalk High School, now Norwalk City Hall: https://www.thehour.com/news/article/29-properties-go-to-auction-block-in-Norwalk-tax-13098878.php

WELCOME TO LOU MARTIRANO
Passing the torch from Joe Lametta, who learned his craft from Dave Coley and Ed Gomeau.

Summer is over all too soon...
ON TO NOVEMBER...

OVERHEATED CAMPAIGN. DID IT AFFECT THE VOTING MACHINES?
Well, in my neck of the woods, no pun intended, Wednesday August 15 a
big relief in terms of at least the dew point/humidity!

HYPOTHESIS: "Weston CT is a country club" yes or no?
UPDATED NOTES BASED UPON NEW INFO
-
IT IS A "GO" according to FORUM on August 14.
- Police Commission had it on the agenda Aug. 8 just to mark the
fact cost issue not resolved (our surmise). They had no answer
regarding how anyone is planning to pay for
road closing/sawhorse placement/traffic control to effect smooth traffic
flow around closed section of Valley Forge Road...and Newtown Turnpike
(Rte 53) crossing for anyone parking at Morehouse - unless they use
Aquarion lot on the east side of intersection???.
- And exactly who has the final say on closing Town roads?
(Ans. the Selectmen, so long as any costs are under $5k if it is
not in the approve FY budget)./WE ARE WRONG - August 14 PRESS RELEASE seemed pretty final - Parks & Rec???

Weston #1 for outages in big thunderstorm...
Would a wet August
affect the work on the W.I.S. project? Is it all outdoor work? How about monsoons? Severe heat/humidity etc.?

Hartford Courant publishes beach rules.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING JULY 19 SAYS "YES"
Lachat Lease/sublease approved unanimously - capacity crowd in
Town Hall Meeting Room. AWOL was I, previous NYC commitment...
ABSENTEE BALLOTS AVAILABLE FOR AUGUST 14th PRIMARIES.

WHAT WILL THE BALLOT LOOK LIKE?
Which candidate is not from Fairfield County? Which are from
Greenwich? Here's an easy one: Who is from Bridgeport?

And
on another note, one thing living in a state the size (population) of
Queens and Staten Island does for you is familiarity with pols.
Thursday
July 12 the last applicant for $$ from Citizen's Election Program
should be approved...Let the TV ads begin - one month to go before
August 14 Primaries.

SENATE STANDS BY THEIR MAN
Seven bill that had passed by more than 2/3 majorities eligible. But no overrides in Senate, answering loyalty question.
