IS IT SUMMER YET?

FROM THE ONION BARN
Weston Center across the highway, the reason Weston got zonng in the first place, some may have said.

History and service ("How many in the audience from Fire Dept. and EMS?")
Another Spring event in Weston, before school is out, is the "Citizen of the Year" award from the Police Commission (r.)...

Mountain Laurel - this time at its peak!  And even more...
The "Long Session" is over but beware The Implementer - upper right - link to CTNEWSJUNKIE radio interview summing up what transpired and what may be ahead...

League of Women Voters of Weston Annual Meeting at A.V.C.C.

Posing for their close up in the Daugherty Commission Room is the Weston Commission for the Arts

HOW IS A SPECIAL SESSION LIKE SPRINGTIME?

Answer:  Not at all.  But even the Legislature can't spoil Springtime in Weston!  House Leadership is sure trying!!!

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE IN WESTON - a hop skip and jump down School Road, Rte, 57 to Town Hall...

OUR SELF-MOTIVATED GARDEN

It looked like this last week!!!  Which plants are technically weeds of the season, and which are not, work together to say "isn't Weston gorgeous?"

NOT WESTON, CONNECTICUT.
This is the landscape around Two Rivers, Alaska this week.

CHENA'S MOMMY OLIVIA, THE PERSONALITY KID
Enjoying a springtime gambol in the neighborhood of SP Kennel, that "come hither look."  "QT" (r.) is Quito's daughter...

Weston below.

DOGWOOD FESTIVAL IN MY FRONT YARD

The LWV of Weston is a classy operation.
From a Weston member's garden or beautifully maintained natural plantings (not mine).  Now we do have the natural forest to provide images more beautiful than one could imagine...

OR IS THERE ANOTHER PLAN WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT?

Just when cynical Westonites were thinking that "temporary" would become permanent...but in the Hartford area regional precedent may have been set by the MDC ("Metropolitan District Commission").

THE DAYS ARE GETTING LONGER...AND ALWAYS A WONDERFUL PORTRAIT OF WESTON THIS TIME OF YEAR!
On the way into the Special Board of Selectmen's meeting across the parking lot (r.), wherein there was a late item about preparing for negotiations on employee contracts in the new environment - Library entrance with flora (l.).

LANDSCAPE
After enjoying the out of doors, it is time to go back to work...so long, personal dogwood festival/tulip time (for now)...

What was it T.S. Eliot called this month
?  Opening lines are the most important.

Will Chena (not pictured) fly in for Monday April 17 continuation, Dog Park 8-24, Weston Library Community Room?  QUORUM at ATBM April 19?

Note:  Chena would not be able to speak (bark) at ATBM because she is neither a registered voter in Weston nor from the Grand List, owner of $1000 of property. in town.  Budget passes at Referendum.

Instead she thinks of her favorite stanzas from a really long poem, The Waste Land:

The river sweats
Oil and tar
The barges drift
With the turning tide
Red sails
Wide
To leeward, swing on the heavy spar.
The barges wash
Drifting logs
Down Greenwich reach
Past the Isle of Dogs.

APRIL IS FOR ANNUAL TOWN BUDGET MEETING IF THERE IS A QUORUM...NOT;  REFERENDUM VOTES YES YES YES (not close).
Weston voters can't muster either a quorum or a three-digit number of no votes.  First crisis of an international level as well as looming cosmic one...not to mention CT - "Land of Steady Habits" and red ink.  For May Day?

Still feels like winter when Weston opens Planning & Zoning 8-24 referral April 3rd, continued to April 17...votes "NO" 5-2 means Special Town Meeting needed to overturn it.

WOOF???  MEOW!!!
Chena offered her portrait for public notice document but rejected because it implied, as Charlie suggested, that dogs given favoritism.   Translation:  "Woof???" = what next?
