DNN Reports

Chena does the "play by play" and celebrates the participation of the Eagle Brigade
She is in awe of her teammates who are having to control themselves from running down these short distance sprint dogs.
"Jeff is doing a fantabulous job keeping his leaders in check" she
stated, as she knows that the team could, as they had already this year,
been down this stretch of the Yukon River during the Black Team's triumphant victory in the YQ 1000. GO DAISY!!! GO COMMANDO!!! As reported, Willie in swing with Kodiak.
I recall four years ago, the GPS device on the sled of maybe the winner
(???) never showed him having moved...so please enjoy the SP Kennel
website with photos and clips from the start in the meanwhile.
With Chena's assistance we'll try to figure this all out later
tonight...
- OK - it is after
dinner in the east, Thursday, and the R&B Team is closing in on the quarter
mile point (meaning three quarters to go)i, with others in the race
still carrying speeds over 10mph, R&B still averaging 9.3
miles an hour;
- Having perused the website of The Percy, there is a 6hr
mandatory rest in Eagle and another 2 hr in either Eagle or Forty-Mile...time to do a graphic or two!
- Let's see...they
started the race at 2pm and it is now 8:30pm. They have gone more
than 50 miles into a 210 mile race and maybe took their 2 hr
mandatory...there is a six-hour mandatory rest at the half-way
point...they took six and a half hours x 4 = 26 hrs plus the 6 hrs = 32
hrs total??? That would, no doing 6 make an est. finish of 10pm EDT Friday???
- Of course, we're just guessing! Can't wait to hear what R&B Leader has to say about the race!!!
- At dinner time Friday,
EDT, less than 50 miles to run run run and speed up to 6mph...and thanks
to SPK crew report, it now is clear to me why the tracker doesn't work
consistently - there is so much STUFF they have to carry with them it
gets obscured!
- After dinner...only 18
miles to go!!! Which according to the calculations done...at 6.1
mph with 18 miles to go...just under 3 hrs...make that 6.2 mph and
closing...
- 9.4 milies to go...make
that 8...make that one tenth of a mile...by the way, the very same
thing hapened this time - the winner disappeared from view for the
entire race this time!
- Whatever the position he finishes, AWESOME for the first race!!! WOOF WOOF WOOF
- TERRIFIC JOB R&B!!!
...

A race
for dogs who like to cross from Canada to the U.S., but not run 1000
miles. Above the GPS tracker used in 2014 and the SP Kennel Team
fielded then. - clcik to enlarge.
SP Kennel
participated in this mid-distance race in 2014...Clyde was a member of
the team along with his brother Outlaw. Leaders were Beemer and
Scruggs, wheel dog extraordinaire Biscuit, and Mac.

WOOF
In lead: Commando and Daisy; Willie in swing in 2018 - he
was on this team with youngster Izzy in 2014. Willie has
gotten even better looking as he has matured!

(L) THAT'S HANDSOME KODIAK (r), WITH COMMANDO. THEN LOVELY QT AND BROTHER BRUNO
Not pictured - Amber, McCaw, Perky in single because he's special.
I'll be reporting live as it happens thanks to super website for
the PERCY DE WOLFE - will rookie musher finish with 9 wagging tails?
